In this webinar sponsored by the Alabama Regional Center for Infection Prevention and Control Training and Technical Assistance (ARC IPC), Dr. Jeremy Walker will be presenting on the different types of masks, fit, filtration, and behaviors in wearing masks, as well as his current research related to mask use.
Dr. Jeremy Walker, MD, Assistant Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine will be presenting on the different types of masks, fit, filtration, and behaviors in wearing masks, as well as his current research related to mask use.
Learning objectives:
1. Understand the distinction btwn airborne & droplet spread as they pertain to viral pathogens
2. Recognize important considerations when choosing a mask
3. Summarize existing data regarding the effectiveness of masking in decreasing viral spread
