Enhancing Nursing and Midwifery Education for Primary Health Care: The Education Quality Improvement Toolkit

This event is a webinar jointly planned between UAB WHOCC and PAHO to promote and launch the Educational Quality Improvement Toolkit which was developed, translated (Spanish and Portuguese) and piloted by UAB SON faculty and international partners in Jamaica, Brazil and Chile. The EQI Toolkit is available through the SON website.
About the Educational Quality Improvement Toolkit:
- This toolkit was developed in 2017-2018 by Drs Harper, Loan, Markaki, McLain, Miltner, Moss, Patrician, Selleck and Shorten
- The toolkit was piloted and culturally adapted by Drs Hammond, Holley, Markaki, and Lisa Theus in 2021-2022 in Jamaica
- The toolkit was translated, piloted and culturally adapted by Dr. Markaki, and Lisa Theus in 2022-2024 in Brazil and Chile.
- Also in 2024, PAHO adopted it as a tool of use to nursing and midwifery schools across the Americas region and ramped up its efforts to promote and launch the Toolkit culminating in the webinar event May 25, 2025.
