Join us for Part 3 of our 3-part "Public Health in the News" lunch and learn series. Dr. Bertha Hidalgo will present on Effective Ways to Communicate About Public Health on Social Media Platforms.

Building up a social media following on platforms such as Instagram and Twitter isn’t easy, especially when your subject matter includes public health-related topics that are sometimes difficult to articulate.

How do you share important facts and dispel incorrect information while keeping your content fresh and easy to digest?

In this session, we will explore the unique spaces of social media in terms of talking about public health and maintaining credibility. Additionally, we’ll look at how to fact-check disinformation online and share interesting (and useful) information.

As a public institution of higher education, UAB adheres to principles of Free Speech, Civil Discourse and Institutional Neutrality.
