https://uab.campuslabs.com/engage/event/11872457This orientation is mandatory for all students studying abroad during Spring 2026. Students should arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow for check-in as we will begin on time.
Join us for our UAB Education Abroad Pre-Departure Orientation, a session designed to prepare students for their upcoming education abroad experience.
During the orientation, you’ll learn about:
- Travel Preparation: Tips on packing, logistics and tips from alumni
- Cultural Insights: Understanding cultural differences and how to adapt to new environments.
- Health & Safety: Essential guidelines for staying healthy and safe while abroad with information about our insurance policies and International SOS health and security assistance program.
- Academic Expectations: Overview of academic systems, course and credit transfer.
- Legal & Financial Considerations: Important information on fees, conduct responsibilities and budgeting.
Our goal is to equip you with the tools, resources, and knowledge you need to make the most of your time overseas.
Whether it’s your first time traveling abroad or you’re a seasoned traveler, we look forward to meeting you at this orientation.
