The Poarch Band of Creek Indians, UAB Office of Access and Engagement, UAB Department of Anthropology, UAB Honors College, and UAB’s Institute for Human Rights would like for you to join us for a documentary screening of The Forgotten Creeks. This documentary will shed light on their history and how they overcame many obstacles, including the Indian Removal Act of 1830, to get to where they are today.  

There will be a panel discussion immediately following the documentary showing with the following panelists:

    Jacksonville State University 
  • Stephanie A. Bryan 
    Tribal Chair and CEO of the Poarch Creek Indians 
  • Robert McGhee 
    Vice Chair of the Poarch Creek Indians 
  • Justin Stabler
    Poarch Creek Indians Tribal Council Member at Large 

A reception will be held in the lobby one hour before the event starts. Registration is required for attendance to this event. Parking is available on the street and the closest public parking deck is located on 14th Street South at the corner of 7th Street So., right past the Hill Student Center if you are coming from University Blvd.
