Destigmatizing Mental Health

This is a past event.

Destigmatizing mental health can be seen as normalizing the occurrence of mental health illness, removing barriers to care, and promoting wellness; however, to truly “destigmatize” there must be a consistent effort to remove shame, guilt, and disgrace from our systems and within our communities. Acknowledging the roots of stigma in our systems and how this is perpetuated in communities honors the mental and emotional vulnerability of every person by fostering a space of safety and connection.
