Please join the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science as we present the next edition of the PowerTalks Seminar Series, featuring Robert Turer, M.D., Assistant Professor of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Program Director of the Clinical Informatics Fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

His presentation is called "Trends and Opportunities in Patient Portal Disparities." Patient portals are increasingly adopted across care environments, empowering patients to manage their health, participate in research, and engage in cutting-edge care approaches. Widespread disparities persist across a range of digitally underserved groups. In this talk, Dr. Turer will present current trends in patient portal disparities, focused on patients with a Spanish language preference and patients presenting to emergency departments, as well as potential mitigating strategies to address these care gaps.
