About this Event

Join us for a session on making confident decisions that prioritize you—even when it’s hard. We’ll explore how work culture, guilt, and external pressure can make it difficult to prioritize yourself, and how reclaiming your autonomy can protect your wellbeing and fuel more meaningful work. Through reflection and real-life tools, you’ll practice making decisions with clarity and self-trust without over-explaining or second-guessing. Whether you're navigating competing demands or struggling to “choose yourself,” this session will help you move forward with confidence and intention.
**Lunch provided on a first come, first served basis**
Power Hour creates space for you to de-stress in a safe environment, talk to other trainees about your experiences, and learn skills that you can take back into your personal and academic life to take control of your situation.
De-Stress Power Hour is led by Student Clinicians, in collaboration with the UAB Master of Arts in Counseling program and the UAB Medicine Office of Wellness.
Trainees from all programs and departments are welcome – no faculty, staff, or administrators allowed. This is a safe space for you to connect with other trainees, spend an hour to invest in your wellness, and skill build around the monthly topic.
For any questions or concerns, please reach out to Dr. Laurence Boitet (Lmblac@uab.edu).
