CTL LIFT: Summer Seminar
Join the CTL LIFT series & Lean Into Future Teaching for the targeted audience of Graduate Students and Postdoctroal Scholars.
Join us at the CTL and complete two workshops in the CTL LIFT series.
Can't commit to the entire day? No problem! Below is the agenda for our sessions, and we welcome you to attend any specific workshop of interest:
-
10:00 am - 11:30 am Writing Course Outcomes
What do students need to be able to know and do by the end of your course? How do you articulate those things in meaningful and measurable ways students will understand? Course outcomes communicate what students are going to learn in your course, in both content but also in useful skills. In this LIFT workshop, explore how to write student learning outcomes for your course that will guide intentional course development from the student perspective.
-
11:30 am - 12:30 pm Lunch and Guided Discussion Groups
-
12:30 pm - 2:00 pm Creating and Aligning Course Assessments
Deciding how to assess student progress and understanding of course material should be an early part of course planning, not something thrown together shortly before a test date. Good assessments take time, intention, and planning. Beyond writing quality test questions to considering a wide variety of alternative assessment types, this LIFT workshop will guide you through assessment development and how to align your assessments with your course materials, activities, and outcomes.
**Please make sure to register and indicate which sessions you are planning to attend at this time**
