CTL LIFT – Rubrics - What are they and why should you use them?
A UAB Center for Teaching and Learning event
Presented by Stacey Cofield, PhD
Want to know how to make grading easier for you and assignments easier on your students? Rubrics are the key – literally! This session will demystify what rubrics are—those seemingly complex grids used for grading—and transform them into clear roadmaps for learners. You'll discover how using rubrics before assignment can clarify expectations, guide your teaching, and ultimately help students understand precisely why and how their work is evaluated for deeper understanding. Lunch will be provided.
Join the CTL LIFT series, and Lean Into Future Teaching
Please note: Offered in partnership with the UAB Graduate School, these workshops are designed exclusively for graduate teaching assistants, or graduate students and postdocs who anticipate a career in positions with teaching responsibilities.
Participants who complete eight workshops in the program will receive a LIFT certificate from the Center for Teaching and Learning to demonstrate their engagement with learning about good teaching practice.
