CTL LIFT – Creating and Aligning Course Assessments

Description: Deciding how to assess student progress and understanding of course material should be an early part of course planning, not something thrown together shortly before a test date. Good assessments take time, intention, and planning. Beyond writing quality test questions to considering a wide variety of alternative assessment types, this LIFT workshop will guide you through assessment development and how to align your assessments with your course materials, activities, and outcomes.

Please note: Offered in partnership with the UAB Graduate School, these workshops are designed exclusively for graduate teaching assistants, or graduate students and postdocs who anticipate a career in positions with teaching responsibilities.
Participants who complete eight workshops in the program will receive a LIFT certificate from the Center for Teaching and Learning to demonstrate their engagement with learning about good teaching practice.
