At our second annual Drag Ball, we will enjoy performances from a local drag entertainer and watch UAB's students bring it to the runway! This year's theme is "Under the Sea." Any UAB student of any gender identity can sign up to compete for a crown in any of our categories:
- Divine Drag (Drag: judged on performance of femininity)
- God of the Sea (Butch: judged on performance of masculinity)
- Fish Face (Face: judged on makeup application and facial beauty)
- Moves Like an OctoPus (Vogue: judged on performance of the Vogue style of dance)
- Beach Please (Costume: judged on most creative, well-executed, and on-theme costume - we're looking for anything related to the beach, the ocean, water, etc.!)
- Atlantis (House: judged on group cohesiveness and stage presence - any House member can join the group to walk together regardless of individual participation!)
How can I participate?
We recommend that you attend Monday's Ball Bootcamp to join a House for the week! House members will be able to participate in activities together to earn points toward the House award at Friday's Ball. However, individuals are also welcome to attend events throughout the week and compete in the Ball solo. Each event is open to all UAB students.
