Join TechBirmingham for our annual Code the Classic Career Expo.

In the past four years TechBirmingham has hosted the Code the Classic Tech Career Expo to welcome top talent from regional universities to Birmingham in conjunction with the Magic City Classic – one of the nation’s largest HBCU classic football games. Many employers report that this event is helpful for recruiting entry-level talent for internship and co-op opportunities , but also expressed interest in connecting with more experienced talent. We have since expanded the program to include job seekers with 3+years of experience.

Once again we are partnering with The Yard, launched in 2019, visioned with Mayor Stephen Benjamin, past President of the US Conference of Mayors, as a vehicle to meet the challenge of innovation, inclusion, and infrastructure across the US. In the past two years, The YARD has awarded six Universities $250K in scholarships, grants, internships, and innovation hub installations in 2019 and entered 2020 with additional scaled commitments in a three-year commitment from Vulcan Materials Company. Our THINK BIG NOW innovation challenge, powered by Vulcan Materials Company, is giving away $100K in internships and scholarships to students with big ideas for improving HBCU campuses and communities.

To ensure that companies make a meaningful connection with potential talent, we have returned to conducting our Career Fair in-person hosted at Innovation Depot with standard Covid precautions in place.
