Dr. Tonya Perry, Professor of Curriculum and Instruction in the School of Education will discuss her recently-published book, Teaching for Racial Equity: Becoming Interrupters.
The book is based on conversations between three educators of color and their white colleagues about the challenges of teaching racial literacy. The book's premise is that teachers must be actively antiracist interrupters who reflect on their own beliefs in order to become effective teachers of racial literacy.
