Presented by Rachel Daniel, MA (Program Manager, Blazer Core)

Description: Join us for this online workshop to learn about how SCOUTs (Student Consultants on University Teaching) services can benefit your critical reflective practice. SCOUTs are junior and senior UAB students that are specially trained to provide consulting services to faculty that are currently teaching in the Blazer Core. Past participants have praised the program for the valuable insider perspectives they gained about student learning.

This session will first give an overview of the SCOUTs services available to both on-campus and online Blazer Core instructors in the coming academic year. During the panel portion, attendees will have the opportunity to hear insights directly from the SCOUTs themselves about their experiences with faculty partners. Lastly, attendees will receive information on how to request SCOUTs services for one semester or a single consultation.

Please Note: The UAB Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) presents workshops on teaching practice for UAB faculty (including adjunct instructors), pre-approved graduate students who are currently under contract to teach academic courses at UAB, and teaching staff. Academic advisors and staff who work directly with students are also approved to come to non-teaching focused workshops. CTL workshops are not intended for UAB graduate or undergraduate students.

CTL Point Value: 10,000 pts.

If you are unable to attend but would still like to learn more about the SCOUTs program, please email the Program Manager, Rachel Daniel (rdaniel1@uab.edu)
