About this Event
Feeling burned out? You’re not alone. Join us for Beating the Burnout: Strategies for Finding Joy in Your Job (and Life) Again.
Burnout was a well-documented issue prior to the pandemic; but after multiple surges of COVID-19, burnout and stress are at unprecedented high levels across professions, causing some people to dread their jobs or even thinking about quitting altogether. Fortunately, there are some steps people can take that may help manage stress and burnout. Although much of the research on burnout focuses on job demands, it is important to explore the personal resources that can help prevent or treat burnout and improve wellbeing.
In this webinar, clinical psychologist Dr. Megan Hays from the UAB Medicine Office of Wellness will discuss the multilevel factors that contribute to burnout, how to identify signs of burnout in yourself and colleagues, as well as individual strategies for reducing burnout and finding joy in your job (again). Strategies for offering quality peer support to your colleagues will also be explored. Ideally, acquisition of skills discussed in this webinar will lead to increased job satisfaction and improved wellbeing for attendees.
