About this Event
This is a backpacking trip to the Sipsey wilderness area. All food and gear are provided. We will be backpacking Friday and Saturday night and leaving the wilderness area on Sunday.
Sipsey is the largest wilderness area in Alabama and the oldest east of the Mississippi River. We will also hike by one of the last stands of virgin forest in the state of Alabama. There are unique rock formations formed by the multiple rivers and streams that run through this area. There will be ample time to try your hand at fishing if you desire.
Mandatory pretrip meeting is Monday, April 10th at 6:00pm at the University Rental Center located at the back of the Campus Rec Center. Unless otherwise notified, trip will be going and pre-trip meeting will still take place.
If you have any questions please let any of our Adventure Rec staff know or email our Coordinator, Thomas.
