"Association between Antioxidant Capacity and Vascular Hemodynamics in Premenopausal Women following 12 Weeks of Exercise Training"
Committee Members:
Abstract:
This study explored an association between antioxidant capacity and vascular hemodynamics, after aerobic exercise training. Oxidative stress induced by “free radicals” plays role in vascular dysfunction and cardiovascular health. Aerobic exercise training is known to benefit body’s antioxidant mechanisms. This secondary data analysis demonstrated an association between antioxidant capacity measured in terms of FRAP (ferric reducing ability of plasma) and hemodynamic measures; diastolic blood pressure and small arterial elasticity, in aerobically trained healthy volunteers.
