 elong in college often end up leaving before completing their degree. This
  feeling of belonging depends on building and maintaining relationships\, 
 as well as the student's own perceptions and understanding of their colleg
 e experiences. Advisors play a key role in helping students develop this s
 ense of belonging by showing care\, encouraging students to be themselves\
 , and helping them navigate the university. Join us as we discuss what bel
 onging means\, why it's important for student success\, and how advisors c
 an impact a student's sense of belonging.\n\nRegistration and Check in Det
 ails:\n\nPlease use the registration button above to register. Upon regist
 ration you will receive reminder emails. When you arrive for your workshop
  you will use an ipad to find your name. Once you select your name you wil
 l then click "check in". You will not need the QR code that is sent in the
  reminder emails.You will need an active UAB ONCE Card to get to the fourt
 h floor.Please note: The UAB Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) presen
 ts workshops on teaching practice for UAB faculty (including adjunct instr
 uctors)\, pre-approved graduate students who are currently under contract 
 to teach academic courses at UAB\, and teaching staff. Academic advisors a
 nd staff who work directly with students are also approved to come to non-
 teaching focused workshops. CTL workshops are not intended for UAB graduat
 e or undergraduate students.\n\nCTL Point Value: 10\,000 pts.
