Advancing Your Teaching Career - CTL Building Block
About this Event
1700 University Blvd, Birmingham, AL 35233
Introducing CTL "Building Blocks" - The Center for Teaching and Learning is now offering related workshop content as “building blocks” towards certificates. Choose a topic that works with your schedule, and commit for 90 minutes of professional development, on the same day and at the same time, for three weeks. If you attend all three workshops, you’ll also be eligible to complete an assignment designed to help you apply the content of the block in your professional practice. For completing the full block, you’ll receive 35,000 points towards a CTL certificate. However, we know that schedules can shift unexpectedly, so even if you can’t come to every workshop, you’ll still get points for the ones you attend.
Advancing Your Teaching Career Building Block - Wednesdays in July, 12:00-1:30 p.m. (July 15, 22, 29)
Preparing your annual review packet, especially when going up for tenure and promotion, is a big task. Join the CTL for expert advice on how to tell the story of your teaching through your documentation, which will include a deep dive into how to employ IDEA surveys and portfolios as a part of your plan, as well as a presentation of perspectives from those who have already successfully navigated the process.
- Wednesday, July 15 - IDEA Surveys
- Wednesday, July 22 - Creating Your Teaching Portfolio
- Wednesday, July 29 - Experiences of 3 Faculty
Click the registration link to sign up for your chosen workshops. Registration for all 3 workshops is recommended. (Registration takes you to a Microsoft form; you may have to log-in to Microsoft.)
