Accessibility: Providing Captions and Transcripts

Presented for UAB faculty by Jalan Cunningham from UAB Disability Support Services,  and Cheri Hamilton from UAB eLearning. Did you know free automatic captioning is available in Kaltura? In this workshop, we will demonstrate how to request captions for a video, edit captions, and share the video with an interactive transcript. Best practices and tips for editing captions will also be discussed.

Registration is strongly encouraged for in-person attendance so that we can notify participants of any unexpected schedule changes and ensure that we have the correct amount of food if a meal is provided. UAB faculty are always welcome to show up to in-person CTL events without registering. However, if you do attend without registering, we ask that if food is being served, you wait until all pre-registered participants have gotten their food before serving yourself.
