6th Annual Community Based Participatory Research Immersion Training and Mentorship Program
About this Event
Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) is an evidence-based approach that fosters
equitable partnerships between researchers and communities to finding solutions to disparities within the community. CBPR supports research as well as program development. This intensive workshop will provide participants with practical tools to engage communities as equal partners in research that drives meaningful, lasting change.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:
- 4-day intensive training on principles and practice of CBPR
- Ongoing 1:1 and group mentoring to support and guide you as you develop your research or healthcare program
GAIN INSIGHTS INTO:
- Privilege, disadvantage, and egalitarian relationships
- Differences between CBPR and other research approaches
- How to:
- Partner with communities equally and respectfully
- Establish and maintain trust
- Partner with Community Advisory Groups to find community-based solutions
- Develop programs based on the communities needs, preferences, and values
- Listen to the voices of the community
Training dates: July 21-24, 2026 (virtual)
Application deadline: May 31, 2026
Cost: $1,500 training plus mentorship (Scholarships available for researchers focused on older adults; application required)
