About this Event
1221 10th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35205
We welcome you to join the Institute for Human Rights and the 2025-26 Birmingham Immersive Community Empowerment Program (BICEP) Interns for our 2nd Annual BICEP Symposium to discuss the BICEP internship and connect students with local nonprofit organizations. This year's theme is "Together We Thrive: Community Connections to Build a Better Birmingham."
We will begin with a panel discussion with representatives from three participating organizations (Lakeshore Foundation, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, and Offenders Alumni Association), followed by a Q&A. All the participating organizations will be present to answer any questions.
The event will include a tabling portion for current and future organizations following the panel discussion. This will be a time for community organizations and prospective students who are interested in working with the organizations to network.
The event will also include free food for attendees. Food is first come, first served.
Please contact ihr@uab.edu for disability accommodations, food allergies, dietary preferences, and if you have any questions or concerns.
