2024 Blazing Frontiers Conference: Disqualifying Health Disparities
Thursday, April 4, 2024 11am to 5pm
About this Event
1321 10th Ave S Birmingham, Alabama 35233
This year’s Blazing Frontiers Conference theme is Disqualifying Health Disparities – our conference aims to address and discuss the disparities that exist today, not only in Birmingham but nationally and globally. This includes gaps in minority health, mental health, and so much more. Through a variety of events, we highlight the work of UAB students, staff, physicians, etc., as well as community partners, all who are working towards bridging the health gap in their respective fields. See below for some conference highlights:
- IVF Presentation by Dr. Sukhkamal Campbell from UAB Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
- Workshops by Equal Access Birmingham, AED (Alpha Epsilon Delta), Arts in Medicine, etc.
- Meditation led by our very own Dr. Hurst-Wajszczuk!
- Presentations on sustainability, homelessness, as well as individual research projects
- Patient Panel led by the School of Medicine’s Health Equity Scholars
- Trivia night and free food (first come, first serve)!
