First Year Student Convocation & Class Photo

Class of 2027, join us as we welcome you to campus! At Convocation, you will be greeted by the UAB Marching Band and current UAB students, who will assist you in the process of formalizing and celebrating your matriculation. 

Please wear your UAB Class of 2027 t-shirt which can be picked up from the First Year Experience table at Connect Fest.

Students living on campus will be escorted to the arena by their Resident Assistant. On-campus students (and anyone else who wishes to join the parade), please gather near the fountain in the plaza next to Blazer Hall and the Commons at 5:10pm to head to convocation. The procession to Bartow Arena will begin at 5:15pm sharp! We request that you arrive and enter the North Entrance of Bartow Arena no later than 6:00pm.

Off-campus students, please meet in the Off-Campus Student Lounge in the Hill Student Center room 140 at 4:00pm for a pre-Convocation social event before joining the parade to Bartow Arena at 5:15pm.
