Applicants for the 2022 Mr. & Ms. UAB Scholarship Competition should demonstrate a record of leadership and active participation in extracurricular activities and must be enrolled at UAB as an undergraduate student during the Spring 2022 and Fall 2022 terms following their selection in order to fulfill their obligation as Mr. or Ms. UAB. Mr. & Ms. UAB will each receive a $2,5000 award that will be applied in Spring 2022 and Fall 2022. The first alternates will be awarded $1,000.

Requirements

• GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Part-time or full-time enrollment
• Undergraduate student
• Attend an orientation session
• Completed application

Orientation Sessions

All applicants must attend a brief orientation to explain the process for selections and responsibilities of the recipients. Students may choose to attend one of the five sessions that are available (it is not necessary to attend more than one).

Application Process

Applications to be considered for the 2022 Mr. & Ms. UAB Scholarship Competition are due Friday, October 1, 2021 by 5:00 pm (CDT). An evaluation of each applicant will take place once all applications are received. Applicants selected to advance for an interview will be notified by email on Monday, October 4, 2021 by noon. All applicants will be notified of their status electronically. Once the list is posted, candidates will be required to call the UAB Office of Alumni Affairs to schedule their first round interview times.
